Match report All Zeebras arrived at Marlow for our first game of the new season, eager and excited. All except Hulks who moaned the whole way there about how much he hated playing cricket. Also except both Whitfield brothers, one of whom had pulled out at 10.30 that morning with a bad back, the other stuck on the M4 and was running late. Ironically the second was being dubbed 'the more reliable Whitfield' which says it all about the first!

Skipper (Cllr.) T.Bruce 'won' the toss on a damp and gloomy day and decided with the quality of team available to him, to bowl first. Chuma opened the account for the Zeebras, bowling quickly and taking a wicket in his first over, a excellent catch by the wicketkeeper (and club chairman) M.Tavender. Bob Gallegher opened from the other end; taking a wicket himself in the 4th over and soon Marlow Park were 10-2. The Marlow nos. 3 and 4 took the score to 50, but J.Harris replacing Mpamugo at one end snared the left handed Hawkins with a good catch from Winky Thompson. That unfortunately was the end of the luck for the Zeebras. The skipper Bruce, replacing Gallegher, bowled dreadfully and the Marlow batsman were able to pick him off with ease. Gary Macy bowled well but went for two excellent struck 6s, and Graeme Hulks bowing his left arm mystery had 5 dropped catches of his bowling, including a caught and bowled chance.

The rain was also a problem for both teams, and after one rain break and a resumption, the rain became even heavier and more persistent and the match was unfortunately called off.
